Online Trust, Comodo and SSL?
Well, it is one of the safest 
ways the industry goes about encrypting your information to keep it safe from prying eyes. And the Yellow Padlock on your browser at the bottom right confirms that the session is protected (so now you know what it means).
Comodo provides these padlocks to hundreds of thousands 
verified online retailers to make sure your information is secure. But that's not enough *sigh*.
There can be different kinds of threats 
at different stages of an online transaction. You need to feel comfortable that the company you are about to give your Credit Card details to is a legitimate company and deserves your business!
Just look out for this Corner of TrustLogo (CoT for short) in the bottom right corner of the website; Comodo protected sites should already carry this logo.
And to make doubly sure that the logo wasn't a "cut 'n paste" spoof by some scammer, you can use your
Verification Engine,
(another free product to provide another "layer" of web assurance protection) 
to verify the legitimacy of this TrustLogo. That's how Verification Engine is putting the "cut 'n paste" scammers out of business - Go VE)
